Temple of Concord, Agrigento
A nature reserve in the Province of Trapani between the municipalities of Trapani and Paceco on the west coast of Sicily. It was founded in 1995 and in the framework of the Ramsar Convention entrusted to WWF Italy. Its area of 987 hectares (2,440 acres) consists of two zones (Zona A and Zona B). Besides remarkable Mediterranean flora and fauna, there is a saline work museum in an old salt mill.
San Vito lo Capo is a popular seaside town on the West Coast, famous for its sandy beach and the low two-story white Moorish architecture can be seen.
Erice is on the West Coast and is the highest town in Sicily, with its ancient stone walled city.
Mazara del Vallo is on the South Coast and is known for its Tunisian Quarter.
Riserva dello Zingaro (Zingaro Reserve), It is on the West Coast of Sicily and is known for some of the best nature walks, natural beaches and examples of the dwarf palm. It is a protected natural area located west of the Gulf of Castellammare in the municipalities of Castellammare del Golfo and San Vito Lo Capo, in the province of Trapani. On May 6, 1981, the Oriented Natural Reserve of the Zingaro was established, the regional law on parks and nature reserves came a couple of years later. There are several hypotheses on the origin of the name, the most accredited is the one that tells that a family of nomads lived in one of the districts of the reserve.
Noto is on the South Coast and is a Unesco World Heritage site because of it’s exemplary Baroque Architecture.

Theatres and Temples
The Andromeda theatre is one of the most fascinating theatre on the island. It was built by a shepherd who used to graze his sheep every day. At sunset they always stopped at the same point and seemed very serene. Then he decided to create boulders (precisely 108 as the visible stars of the constellation) and put them exactly where the sheep stopped, so as to create the “Constellation of Andromeda”, M31 that will enter our galaxy in 4 billion years.
The wonderful Greek Theater of Siracusa was built in the 5th century in the Archeological Park of the Neapolis. There, were performed so many gorgeous plays and shows. Catharsis e mimesis were the fundamental parts of the Greek tragedy. There is a very similar theater in Taormina, an astonishing one which has a marvelous view on the Mount Etna and on the beach of Giardini Naxos and Isola Bella.
Valle dei Templi is an important archaeological center , that stands on the ruins of Akragas. The imposing remains of the Doric temples dedicated to the Hellenic gods emerge.
Natural Reserves
La Scala dei Turchi takes its name from the Saracen pirates, improperly called Turks by the local populations who in the 1500s used to land on the particular rock formation to plunder the villages of the coast such as the current Realmonte.
Museums
The Tapestry Museum of Marsala houses eight Flemish Tapestries of the sixteenth century that narrate historical episodes of the Judeo-Roman war, of which Tacitus and Josephus give us news.
Castles
The imposing medieval castle of Sciacca was built in 1382 by Guglielmo Peralta, Count of Caltabellotta, who became one of the four vicars of the kingdom of Sicily after the death of King Frederick III.
