The present minaret was built in 1845 by the Governor of Mosul, Gürcü Mehmet Pasha.
The portal of the transverse rectangular planned structure with a dome in front of the mihrab, which is one of the last Artuqid works in Mardin, is well preserved. Geometric motifs, braided and starry decorations draw attention on the three-slice arched portal made of two-colored stones.
The entrance doors of the mosque, the minbar and the mahfil, are unique examples of late Seljuk woodwork and worth seeing.
