The nation is renowned worldwide for its weather that varies greatly from one region to another. From the tropically influenced southern islands to the cold northernmost region, the climate in Japan is diverse, and each area has its unique weather pattern.

In Hokkaido, the winter season is long and harsh, with very warm to cool summers, making it a perfect destination for skiing enthusiasts. However, this is not the same in other parts of the country.

In the Sea of Japan region on Honshu’s west coast, the winter season brings heavy snowfall, thanks to the northwest winter winds. In the summer, this region sometimes experiences extremely hot temperatures due to the foehn.
