Since its humble establishment in 1961, the Tampere Museum of Natural History has captivated visitors with its rich and diverse exhibits.

Prior to its official opening, the museum delighted the people of Tampere with temporary exhibitions that highlighted the local nature, igniting a curiosity for the natural world.

Remarkably, some of the oldest artifacts within the museum’s extensive collections date back over 150 years. In an exciting development, the museum relocated to the same building that houses the new Tampere City Library in 1988, further enriching the cultural landscape of the city.
