With a combined total acreage of 2,052 acres, Fairmount Park is a sprawling green oasis that offers an abundance of recreational opportunities for both locals and tourists alike.

The management of Fairmount Park, as well as the entire citywide park system, falls under the purview of the Philadelphia Parks & Recreation department.

Formed in 2010 through the merger of the Fairmount Park Commission and the Department of Recreation, this department ensures that the park and its historical significance are preserved and well-maintained.

Fairmount Park continues to serve as a cherished landmark and a symbol of Philadelphia’s commitment to its parks and green spaces.
