This avenue is named after the most significant day in Argentina’s history, which is none other than the Independence Day of Argentina, i.e., July 9, 1816. The avenue spans around 3 kilometres to the west of the Río de la Plata waterfront, extending from the Retiro district in the north to Constitución station in the south.
With up to seven lanes in each direction, this avenue boasts of exemplary road infrastructure and is flanked by parallel streets of two lanes each. One of the most striking features of this avenue is the bus rapid transit corridor that runs through its centre.
This corridor, which spans 3 kilometres, is one of the city’s Metrobus corridors and was proudly inaugurated in July 2013.
The avenue’s impressive road network and seamless connectivity make it an ideal destination for the pro-travellers and city enthusiasts.
